IN-PERSON ACTIVITIES UPDATE 12-10-2020
Journey Church Family & Friends,
First, let us start by saying thank you. Thank you for being so patient and supportive during what has been by far the most challenging year of ministry our church has ever experienced. We have been encouraged by your love and support for the ministry we all love so much.
Before Thanksgiving, we announced the temporary suspension of all in-person activities due to the rise of Covid-19 cases in our area. This decision has proven to be incredibly helpful as members of our church and volunteer teams have since contracted Covid-19. Please join us in praying for their complete recovery. To date, we have not had a transmission of the virus traced back to our in-person activities. We believe that is first because of God's grace, a second because of the wisdom we have exercised during this season.
After considering the rise in cases in our area and how the virus is now directly impacting our volunteer team/staff our Executive Leadership Team has decided to suspend all in-person activities through the end of 2020. We want to do our part in stopping the transmission of this virus and protect those within our church and community who are most vulnerable to its effects.
Our church activities will remain online; they are not shutting down. You can expect the same great worship, word, and fellowship from your homes. Please visit our website to connect to our online worship experiences and to learn more about how you can stay connected during this time.
Please know that our Leadership Team will continue to find creative ways to connect all of us during this Christmas season and provide online content for the remainder of the year. Our office will be open during the week to provide care and support; whether you need help viewing our online services, prayer for your health, or just someone to talk to, we are just a phone call away.
We know this may feel like another setback in a season of life filled with disappointing news. Yet, we remain confident that we are drawing closer to victory. As you have heard us say so many times this year, "This is for now, not forever." We will rise again. We will gather again. We will be victorious!
We leave with you the blessing from Paul's letter to the Philippians:
"Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with Thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." (Philippians 4:4-7)
May the peace of God dwell richly in your homes. See you online!
