What is Serve Day?

The Serve Day movement brings together hundreds of churches in dozens of countries to help the local community. Serve Day is an amazing opportunity for Journey Church to show the love of Christ in real and tangible ways in our region. As a church body we will take on practical projects, and through these acts of service, we hope people’s hearts will be opened to the love of Jesus.

What are the basic details of Serve Day?

Date: Saturday, July 13, 2019

Can I serve with my family and friends?

Absolutely! Feel free to reach out to friends and family at Journey Church and beyond to serve with you! Just be sure to direct everyone to sign up for the same project on our website.

What should I bring on Serve Day?

Plan on bringing any personal items you may need like sunscreen, drinking water, packed lunch, tennis shoes/boots, hat, etc., along with any items pertaining to your service project such as rakes, gloves, lawnmowers, tarps, work tools, etc. For projects requiring physical labor, work clothes are a good idea. We recommend not wearing jewelry. Your Project Leader will communicate with you as to any special items you need to bring.

Do volunteers receive a Serve Day T-Shirt?

Yes, your project leader will have your t-shirts available on the day of the event.

What if it rains?

Your Project Leader will communicate any rain plans for your project.

Can children participate in Serve Day?

Yes! We highly encourage families to serve together. Because each project is different our list of projects on our website will indicate which projects are kid-friendly (ages 7 and up). Children MUST serve with their parents for the duration of Serve Day.
